Adding GST

To add GST to a base amount:

GST Amount = Base Amount × (GST Rate / 100)
Total Amount = Base Amount + GST Amount

Example: Base Amount = ₹1,000, GST Rate = 18%

GST Amount = ₹1,000 × (18/100) = ₹180

Total Amount = ₹1,000 + ₹180 = ₹1,180

Removing GST

To remove GST from a total amount:

Base Amount = Total Amount / (1 + (GST Rate / 100))
GST Amount = Total Amount - Base Amount

Example: Total Amount = ₹1,180, GST Rate = 18%

Base Amount = ₹1,180 / (1 + 0.18) = ₹1,000

GST Amount = ₹1,180 - ₹1,000 = ₹180
